Today, MPs are arriving back in Westminster after the summer break. This Wednesday, I’ll be in parliament too – speaking at a special event about the urgency of the global debt crisis and the need for a new debt justice law.

This event is a big opportunity for us to take our demand for debt justice straight to decision-makers. A strong turnout will show that MPs really care about this issue – and drive home the message that action is urgently needed to end the debt crisis.

Did you know that 90% of the debts owed by lower-income countries to banks, hedge funds and oil traders are overseen by UK law? When I meet MPs this week, I’ll be outlining how a new debt justice law here could make the debt relief process faster and fairer and help end the global debt crisis.
