I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support. Our baby, Karina, is now 5 months old and is such a ray of sunshine. Her big sister Lillian, now age 2, runs circles around us, remarkably on a diet of almost exclusively raspberries and crackers. Our living room is full of toddler art supplies, gymnastics equipment, newborn play pads, stacks of children’s books, and a small menagerie of stuffed animals. Josh and I are feeling an odd combination of both extreme joy and extreme exhaustion :).
A lot of you have asked me what “Congressman Josh Harder” is like outside of work, as “Dada”. When Josh gets home from work, he immediately changes out of his suit and into a t-shirt and shorts and spends the rest of the night doing giggles and tummy time on the floor. Josh is also the champion “playground Dada” I call him. By this point, I’m pretty sure he has taken Lillian to every single playground in Tracy, plus several in Stockton, Lodi, and Manteca, too!
Throughout this challenging period of juggling a newborn and a toddler, Josh continues to show the traits that make me excited to choose him every single day. This week, we are celebrating 11 years together. If I had to describe Josh as a dad, I would say he is extremely resilient, kind, humble, thoughtful, and a strong leader for our daughters.
You all know and love Josh for the amazing Congressman that he is; every day, he goes to work for our community. Those traits that make him such a great dad are the same traits that make him the kind of leader we want and need in Congress.
