John,
Each year, the United States gives up to $1.3 billion in military aid to the Egyptian government — activists, human rights groups, and everyday Americans have long questioned this “foreign military financing.”
In 2015, the Egyptian President, Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, allegedly gave Donald Trump’s presidential campaign a $10 million boost, and the Washington Post discovered an FBI investigation into the transaction.
But Attorney General Bill Barr, one of Trump’s top allies, quashed the investigation before it could come to a conclusion.
We’re by no means surprised, but this shady foreign contribution is just one of many potential crimes and political chess moves Trump made during his presidency, and we believe he should be held accountable.
U.S. foreign policy and aid shouldn’t just go to the governments that bribe our leaders the most. The House and Senate Oversight Committees must investigate immediately and ensure there’s accountability.
If you agree, sign our petition to Congress now.
Thank you,
Democratic Values
