Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As an educator, I know how important it is that every child is given the resources to meet their full potential! As we embark on a new school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress we’ve made together! I am proud to share that FOUR significant organizations have recognized our campaign and our collective commitment to a brighter, safer, and healthier future for our kids.

Four incredible organizations have all made strong statements in support of the ways I've been a champion for students and families! 

1. Delaware State Education Association's (DSEA) Endorsement: Supporting Children in Public Education 

The DSEA has endorsed my re-election campaign. The DSEA's mission is to make our public schools a safe and vibrant atmosphere for educating students. DSEA members dedicate their lives to supporting children and public education. I am proud to know over 12,000 classroom teachers, counselors, and education professionals are supporting my re-election campaign. Our children come from different backgrounds, but every child in our district deserves a world class education! 

As an educator, I know the path to improving student success. We must ensure that students are ACTUALLY able to access resources, such as guidance counselors without being put on a weeks-long waitlist. Children from Delaware deserve to have schools committed to every student's success. I've worked directly with my colleges to introduce legislation that would make it easier for students to access services, such as mental health counseling; that can be life saving for some young people. I will continue to be a fierce advocate for our parents, teachers, administrators, and - most importantly - our children.

2. Sierra Club Endorsement: A Green Future for Our Schools

I am proud to receive the esteemed endorsement of the Sierra Club, a testament to our dedication to environmental sustainability. This recognition is not just a badge of honor; it’s a promise to our students that their learning environments will be safe, green, and conducive to their well-being. As we send our children back to school, let’s celebrate the strides we’re making in reducing our carbon footprint, enhancing green spaces, and promoting eco-friendly practices in our schools. Our commitment to a sustainable future ensures that our children will grow up in a world that values and protects the natural environment.

3. Moms Demand Action Distinction: Keeping Our Schools Safe

Our ongoing efforts to ensure that every child can learn in a safe and secure environment have been recognized by Moms Demand Action. Their distinction, awarded this year, underscores our continued commitment to reducing gun violence and implementing effective safety measures in and around our schools. Classrooms must be safe spaces where children can focus on their education without fear. 
 

4. Designated Mental Health Now Candidate: Prioritizing Mental Well-being

This year, I am further honored to be a Designated Mental Health Now candidate. I am a proud sponsor of multiple bills to increase the amount of mental health professionals and essential resources available to students. The designation from Mental Health Now highlights my direct efforts to extend mental health resources and support. Mental Health Now advocates for a focus on providing accessible and comprehensive mental health services so that children receive the support they need to thrive. I am proud to reaffirm my commitment to breaking the stigma around mental health by taking concrete steps to address the needs of our students.
