As a Canadian employer whose business has been affected by COVID-19, you may be eligible for a subsidy of 75% of employee wages for up to 12 weeks, retroactive from March 15, 2020, to June 6, 2020.
This wage subsidy will enable you to re-hire workers previously laid off as a result of COVID-19, help prevent further job losses, and better position you to resume normal operations following the crisis.

The Federal Government has put several measures in place to support businesses and individuals through the economic realities during COVID-19. New details and adjustments are being made at a dizzying pace. CHBA has been actively engaged with government to get changes for the better, and continues to push for more support for members. CHBA has been keeping members updated on all these changes, but it’s also time to hear from the tax experts to help you access the best options for you and your business.
Join Kevin Lee, CHBA's CEO, and Peter Bangs and Gavin Miranda, Partners in Taxation Services at MNP LLP in this interactive webinar as they walk you through the different options and qualifying criteria as they currently stand, so that you can make the best possible decisions for your business during this challenging time. Land Owner Transparency Registry
The first-of-its kind in Canada, LOTR is a registry of information about individuals who are deemed to have an indirect interest in land (e.g. through corporations, trusts and partnerships) which will be housed in a searchable, public database.
LOTR is currently scheduled to launch in late Spring 2020 once related legislation has passed. However, the Province’s legislative calendar has been impacted by COVID-19, which may result in delays to LOTR.
