Gov. Hogan: “It was great to be back with the bright minds at AstraZeneca’s world class facility in Gaithersburg to see their cutting edge research in action and discuss how we can continue to ensure Maryland’s future as a bio hub and global innovator.
Our administration was proud to oversee a nearly 50% increase in the number of life science businesses that call Maryland home, as well as a significant increase in bio-manufacturing and life sciences employment. I look forward to building on this work in the Senate."

HONORING THEIR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE
Monday, August 26, also marked the three years since the Abbey Gate terrorist attack in Afghanistan.
Gov. Hogan: “Today as our nation marks three years since the Abbey Gate terrorist attack in Afghanistan, we honor the memory and service of the 13 brave service members who lost their lives. Their sacrifice and legacy will never be forgotten.
We continue to hold their families in our thoughts and prayers, as well as the men and women in uniform who are currently serving our country at home and abroad.”
MAJOR POLLING NEWS
On Tuesday, August 27, the first independent poll of the general election was released. It showed that Gov. Hogan is in a DEAD HEAT with his opponent, Angela Alsobrooks.

Gov. Hogan: “I’ve been clear from the start that we are the underdogs in this race. People have always counted us out—and in this deep blue state, during this unprecedented and chaotic time in American politics, this uphill battle is a daunting climb. In spite of all of that, the palpable enthusiasm of Maryland voters for independent leadership has given our campaign real momentum, and the chance to defy the odds.
“No one will outwork us. We have been to every corner of the state, reached almost 100 stops on our Strong Independent Leadership Tour, and contacted over 120,000 voters in the general election. We’ve beaten the odds before, and with the grassroots support of Democrats, Independents and Republicans in every corner of the state, we are ready to do it again.
“Marylanders are fed up with politics as usual and the broken systems that no longer serve us. This year, we have a chance to fix it. Together—with courage and optimism—we can make a difference, and send a message to Washington that’s heard all over the country. I hope you’ll join us.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Gov. Hogan: “My team and I were glad to be able to provide backpacks, notebooks and classroom supplies to help get this year off to a great start!”

Gov. Hogan: “I loved hearing thoughtful questions from some of Prince George’s rising stars. They had a wide variety of interests and passions, including how our state’s leaders can support the sciences, finding a cure to cancer, how the state and federal government function and how to be a Governor—I have no doubt that they will accomplish everything they set their minds to.
Maryland’s future is brighter than ever with these young innovators, artists and leaders at the helm.”

Gov. Hogan: “Thank you to the teachers and faculty at Paint Branch for having us today, and for all they do to support the incredible students at Paint Branch Elementary. It’s clear these kids love school—and that starts with who’s teaching them.”

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:
[link removed]
Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.
When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.
Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.
Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.
I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.
It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.
[link removed]
So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.
For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!
[link removed]
Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,
Larry Hogan
