It is a frustrating reality that political rhetoric continues to incite hate and division with the dehumanization of others — when listening to, learning from, and acknowledging the diverse perspectives of others have been out of fashion for so long that agreeing or disagreeing with others can hinge on one word uttered or not, an uninformed impression or feeling, or our own false sense of power when aggressively minimizing others.

But I know we are better than this and will look back at this time in history as a period when we acted. I have seen the greatness we are capable of when we unite around our shared goals: goals for affordable, accessible healthcare; for accountable, transparent leadership; for addressing the climate crisis; for reproductive freedom; and for the freedom to live in safe communities and make a good living.

All of this is possible and actionable. We just need the right unifying leaders who can bridge the divides. I know I can, and I know we can; and that’s why I’m asking:
