### **Patriotism Prevails: Oklahomans Rally Behind Teen Forbidden from Flying American Flag**
A bold display of defiance against bureaucratic overreach unfolded last week in Edmond, Oklahoma, when a brave teenager refused to surrender his right to express pride in America. Caleb Horst, a senior at Edmond North High School, was ordered by school officials to remove an oversized American flag attached to his pickup truck – a tradition he had observed "for quite a while."
School authorities invoked a dubious policy claiming that flying flags of any sort on campus pose a safety risk and create distractions during the school day. But Horst and scores of supporters called foul, citing fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.
Edmond Public Schools insisted, "This is not about the American flag or patriotism, [but rather] safety and disruptions and distractions during the school day." However, many saw through what they perceived as thinly veiled censorship, sparking outrage among locals.
Undeterred by threats, Horst organized a peaceful demonstration on Monday, which drew more than 50 vehicles adorned with Old Glory. The convoy converged on campus, proudly displaying their allegiance to nation and ideals. Together, participants recited the Pledge of Allegiance, underscoring the importance of free speech.
