I’m glad I caught you, friend. I have a story that might resonate with you:

I’ve been traveling all over the district and recently I had the opportunity to speak with a woman named Betsy. She told me about how she has to travel to the hospital every single month for a procedure. 

Since then, I keep thinking about who around me is like “Betsy,” fighting the battle of the day without anyone knowing it. 

I’m running for re-election for “Betsy” and everyone like her, but we’re facing our August deadline tonight, and we’re coming up short of our goal. Can you chip in $7 or whatever you can to help us finish strong, to keep helping the “Betsy’s” of IL-17?

Think of all of the confidence, perseverance, and strength we may not notice in a stranger's eyes sitting at a stoplight, walking to school, buying groceries, or happily walking into the hospital for the day’s procedure. 

Everyone’s fighting a battle. We need to make sure the people around us are being lifted up instead of being cut down, whether we think they need it or not.

I didn’t go to Congress just to be a politician or have a title.  I went to Congress to represent people like Betsy, my neighbors. And I’ll never let them be treated like pawns for special interests or extremists.

Ahead of our monthly deadline, help me be a good neighbor to them by chipping in $7. Because there is nothing stronger than people power!
