When you're learning to fish, Pierce Pond is a perfect place to practice. Join us for a fly fishing clinic!
Together with Pierce Pond Watershed Trust, we would like to welcome people of all identities and abilities, ages 18 and up, for a full-day fly fishing clinic on Saturday, September 14. This is a fully immersive day of learning at Cobb’s Pierce Pond Camps with instruction in the morning and plenty of time for independent fishing in the afternoon.
Your day will begin at 8:45 at Lindsay Cove on Pierce Pond, where you will take a short boat ride to Cobb’s Pierce Pond Camps.
In the morning, you’ll work on casting, tying knots, selecting flies and more! After a break for lunch it’s time to fish! You may choose to wade, fish from a dock, borrow a canoe, or rent a motorized boat for $25. (Please bring cash as credit cards are not accepted.)
Space is limited, so register soon through Pierce Pond Watershed Trust.
The cost of the clinic, which benefits the preservation of the pristine Pierce Pond Watershed, is $75 per person.
The Pierce Pond watershed, with its deep, cold, clear waters, vibrant forests, and unspoiled shores, sustains abundant wildlife and offers unparalleled outdoor recreation opportunities. Pierce Pond is a six-mile long, spring-fed lake encompassing 1,650 acres and surrounded by mountains in the center of the12,000-acre watershed.
Pierce Pond is a remote place! Public access is via Lindsay Cove at the south end which is about an hour’s drive north of the small town of North New Portland. Please be advised that the dirt roads to the Lindsay Cove Boat Launch and to Harrison’s Pierce Pond Camps are very rough. Please see each website for detailed directions.

You will need to purchase a fishing license, at least for the day of the clinic. All other gear will be provided including rods, reels, flies, and a limited supply of boots and waders. We invite you to bring your own gear as well, as it is a great opportunity to practice with your equipment.
