Throughout my career, I have advocated for the betterment of my community. From being arrested for protesting the overturn of Roe v. Wade to passing the FUTURE Act, which permanently provides $255 million a year for all Minority-Serving Institutions, I will always be on the people's side.
👉 I became the first Black woman elected to the Greensboro City School Board, where I served for 2 years before serving 9 years on the Greensboro City Council
👉 I was then elected to State House District 26 for a total of 10 terms
👉 Now, I’ve been proudly serving the Charlotte area in Congress since 2014
In all my years in public service, I’ve never been as worried as I am now about the progress we’ve made being erased by extremists rolling back our rights and freedoms. That’s what makes this election so important.
So I have to ask: will you help me reach my fundraising goal tonight so I can fight to protect the progress we’ve made and continue aiming for the betterment of our community?
