OPEIU Local 251 members’ contract expires next month. They need our help to demand a fair contract from management.

Hi John,

Office and Professional Employees (OPEIU) Local 251 represents more than 550 workers at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico. These administrators purchase mission-critical lab equipment and do payroll, classified work, accounts payable work and more.

The majority of OPEIU Local 251 members at Sandia National Laboratories are women of color. Many are single mothers and caregivers for their extended families.

Management has proposed several concessions to take away these workers’ rights, and their contract expires on Sept. 24. Will you send a letter demanding a fair contract now?

Sandia National Laboratories is a prestigious asset for U.S. defense, energy and technology. The lab was founded during World War II during the time of the Manhattan Project, when the world’s first atomic bomb was built.

OPEIU Local 251 has represented Sandia National Laboratories since 1950. Their collective bargaining agreement covers wages, paid time off, benefits and other working conditions.

Sandia National Laboratories’ job postings describe “challenging work with amazing impact that contributes to security, peace and freedom worldwide.” The workers who directly contribute to these critical priorities deserve respect, dignity and a fair collective bargaining agreement.

Thank you for standing with them!

In solidarity,
