Historic Coal Ash Cleanup Agreement Reached


Brunner Island Power Plant Owners Agree to $1 Million Penalty, Largest Ever Assessed in Pennsylvania for Coal Ash Pollution

The Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association, Waterkeeper Alliance, and PennEnvironment, represented by the Environmental Integrity Project, reached a historic agreement to reduce toxic pollutants leaking from a power plant’s coal ash dumps into groundwater and the Susquehanna River, the largest Chesapeake Bay tributary.
