When you live in poverty, having the essentials is no guarantee.  

Millions of kids across the U.S. spent all summer without books or other learning resources at home – things many of us take for granted.  

Despite these challenges, every child can thrive with the right support. Like early childhood education, which helps kids build strong foundations from the very start.   

I’m asking one last time, John: Will you sign our petition to Make Summer Fair?

For millions of kids living in poverty, this summer just wasn’t fair. Tell Congress: Invest in early learning so all our nation’s children have a chance to thrive.

John, remember the joy of back-to-school season?  

There’s nothing quite like that first day, shuffling into class with fresh pencils, a brand-new box of crayons and butterflies in your stomach.  

But instead of excitement, some children are filled with dread… because they’ve fallen behind. 

Without access to books and other resources at home, kids can lose up to three months of learning over the summer – and struggle to catch up when school starts again.  

John, it’s time to Make Summer Fair. Will you join the fight to give every child a strong start in life? 

Believe it or not, 90% of brain development happens by age 5. Early learning helps children build solid foundations during this time – but many families just can’t afford it.   

To set our kids up for success, lawmakers must invest in early childhood education. It’s a crucial step toward preventing summer learning loss and breaking cycles of poverty.
