Members of the People For team traveled to Chicago to meet with progressives from across the country and help nominate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to lead the Democratic ticket this November. While there, we co-sponsored four events for attendees, interviewed with several news outlets, hosted an exclusive member briefing that brought our supporters to the scene on the ground, and wheat pasted “Freedom: Kamala Harris,” a print created by Victoria Cassinova in support of People For’s Artists For Democracy campaign. We returned from the convention reenergized to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz along with progressives throughout the nation and are prepared to continue the momentum through Election Day.
Check out the recap of our involvement at the DNC! >>
Be sure to also add your name to our pledge to vote for Harris/Walz this election! >>
With less than 70 days left until Election Day, former President Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance continue to demonstrate why they pose a risk to our rights and freedoms. As Harris and Walz take a narrow lead in several key states, Trump and Vance resort to the only strategy they have: lashing out angrily at their opposition and trying to provoke fear and anger in the hearts and minds of voters.
But after the DNC, voters are beginning to side with the Harris/Walz ticket. One ruled not by fear and hatred, but by joy and optimism. A brand of progressive patriotism that embodies a vision echoed in the words of People For co-founder Barbara Jordan: “What the people want is simple: they want an America as good as its promise."
Over the coming weeks People For will be mobilizing voters in key states throughout the country to help deliver on that promise – but this work is only possible through the support of members like you.
We still have $7,819 left to raise before midnight in order to meet our match campaign goal!
Please chip in now and your gift will be 2X-MATCHED and put to work immediately in the fight to defeat the MAGA movement and elect progressives up and down the ticket this November! >>

The Trump campaign’s desperate and dishonest attempts to distance itself from the MAGA movement’s wildly unpopular Project 2025 policy agenda are failing miserably. Project 2025, an initiative spearheaded by the conservative thinktank Heritage Foundation (and staffed by many former Trump administration officials), is the 900+ page conservative playbook featuring their extreme and far-right policy agenda if Trump were to get reelected this November.
New analysis from People For research director Peter Montgomery details the Trump Campaign’s desperate attempts to publicly distance themselves from Project 2025’s signature proposals as the campaign and its surrogates continue touting them behind closed doors.

As the MAGA Supreme Court continues to lay waste to our fundamental rights and freedoms, it’s easy to understand why public trust in the institution continues sinking to historic lows. A new op-ed from People For president Svante Myrick details the case for Supreme Court reform as we seek to undo the damage from a Court that has been captured by wealthy and partisan interests who put their thumb on the scale and harm trust in this vital institution.

For more than 40 years, People For the American Way has worked with artists and creatives to impact real-world political outcomes. Artists for Democracy 2024 is our latest campaign to continue this work and the legacy of our founder, Norman Lear.
The artwork that is being created for this campaign will be conversation pieces—both in the communities in which they’ll be displayed and as art hung on the walls of People For supporters like you. When you purchase this art, you’ll be joining a powerful movement to protect our democracy.
Even better than getting your hands on art that speaks to pro-democracy values, the funds we raise through this program will be put to work immediately in helping to get-out-the-vote in key states by putting up artist-designed billboards, hiring canvassers, organizing events and more.

As we face a growing wave of authoritarianism and anti-democratic forces, it has never been more critical to secure the future of our democracy and the progressive values that are under attack by right-wing extremists. One way to join this cause is through estate planning to protect the people and things you love, safeguard your assets, and secure a brighter future for our country.
Despite the value of planning, the process is often inaccessible, overwhelming, and expensive — especially to historically disenfranchised communities. That's why we are excited to announce our new partnership with FreeWill so that our supporters can create their wills, and plan their estates at NO cost to you.
