Donald Trump is doing something he didn't do in 2016: planning. And just
wait until you see what those plans include.
Trump is already building his Cabinet—and the three main qualifications
are 1) unflinching loyalty to Trump, 2) zeal to punish critics, and 3) a
willingness to take controversial and potentially illegal action to
advance Trump's fascist agenda.^1
It's the part of Project 2025 no one is talking about.
Trump's team doesn't mince words about their desire to "target and jail
critics, including government officials and journalists," arrest and
concentrate undocumented immigrants in detainment camps, and unleash the
U.S. military on protesters exercising their First Amendment rights.^2
Here are the men Trump will likely enlist in his regime and place in the
most powerful jobs in the American government.
* Stephen Miller: The architect of the despicable child separation
policy is likely to become Trump's attorney general. Miller is
reportedly "eager to test the boundaries of what courts and the
military can do" to detain, purge, and punish immigrants.^3
* Mike Davis: A congressional staffer with a low profile, Davis has
promised a "'three-week reign of terror' in which he would 'put kids
in cages' and jail prosecutors and journalists who have gone after
Trump." Davis even told MSNBC's Mehdi Hasan that he has "his spot
picked out in the D.C. gulag." Trump is eyeing Davis for the top post
at the Departments of Justice or Homeland Security.^4
* Steve Bannon: Trump is considering the right-wing podcast host for the
White House chief of staff role. Bannon, who says he wears the label
"racist" as a "badge of honor," would be the senior-most adviser to
the president.^5
* Kash Patel: Described as Trump's "political mercenary," and a
pro-Putin crony, Patel is likely to end up as head of the CIA. A
former Trump administration lawyer, Patel authored a children's book
about the Russia investigation in which "King Donald" is a character
persecuted by "Hillary Queenton and her shifty knight."^6
We cannot ever let this Cabinet of horrors become our reality—and we are
running out of time to take action. We are now only 65 days away from
Election Day, and the critical battleground state of North Carolina will
mail out ballots in just 10 days.

Trump's team isn't just vetting potential candidates for top posts—they've
also launched an unprecedented operation to pre-screen the ideologies of
54,000 MAGA foot soldiers Trump would install at every level of the
federal government.
The operation is part of Project 2025.
It is backed by tens of millions of dollars, and the goal is simple: to
purge lifelong civil servants and replace them with an army of tens of
thousands of ready-to-serve MAGA loyalists on Day 1 of the second Trump
administration.
These lapdogs would be installed up and down every single government
agency, including in legal, judicial, defense, regulatory and domestic
policy roles.
The most elaborate part of the operation is a résumé-collection project
that drills down more on political philosophy than on experience,
education, or other credentials. According to Axios, "intense attention
will be given to the social-media histories of anyone being considered for
top jobs. Those queasy about testing the limits of Trump's power will get
flagged and rejected."
