Stacey Abrams' Speak Up PAC

Hi John,

As a daughter of civil rights activists, I have firsthand perspective that the fight for justice doesn’t end on election day or when we beat one round of extremists, it is generational and enduring.

That’s what inspires me so deeply about our community at Speak Up PAC. We aren’t just fighting for one state, or one group of people, or for just this election cycle. We are committed to stay engaged and continue fighting, because we can always make change and move the needle.

A topical and poignant example of long sought after reform is voting rights. Our predecessors fought fiercely in the civil rights movement to pass the Voting Rights Acts.

And for nearly half a century those laws stood as pillars of our democracy. Until a Conservative Supreme Court gutted those laws, leaving voting rights once again vulnerable to those sinister and cynical enough to attack them. In other words, the door opened wide for Republican voter suppression.

And our attempts to reverse the damage, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, have been blockaded at every turn by Republican members of Congress.

But I am not discouraged or deterred, because with struggle comes engagement, with adversity comes advocacy. Together, we are on the brink of electing pro-voting rights candidates up and down the ballot this November. A result that would restore and strengthen our democracy.

This fight is generational, but decades of battles come down to this November. That’s why we are hoping to reach our end-of-month fundraising goal.

This pro-voting rights fund will empower our advocacy efforts ahead of the election and help elect pro-democracy champions like Kamala Harris.

We have an end-of-month fundraising deadline in just 8 hours and we are still falling short. I hope you will chip in today and do your part to enact generational and enduring change.
