On Wednesday, Governor Walz authorized emergency assistance for four Minnesota counties that suffered damage from flooding in June.
"Minnesota’s emergency management team has been coordinating closely with counties to address damage caused by flooding this year," said Governor Walz. "Their work continues to help Minnesotans recover from this year’s severe flooding."
"In June, Minnesotans did their part to respond to historic flooding - filling tens of thousands of sandbags, checking in on their neighbors, and volunteering their time," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. "The state continues to do our part with more emergency assistance on the way."
Governor Walz announced new funding to expand biofuel availability across Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is currently seeking grant applications from gas stations looking to expand their selection of motor fuel blends containing at least 15% ethanol.
"Investing in homegrown biofuels helps us lower emissions and save drivers money, while giving a boost to Minnesota’s agriculture and renewable energy sectors," said Governor Walz. "These grants will help gas stations invest in the infrastructure needed to expand their biofuel supply – it’s a win for farmers, business owners, and consumers."
