The Week in Review
Happy Friday!
I hope you had a wonderful week. I am grateful to serve you all in the 118th Congress. Read below to see what I’ve been working on this week.
Forum on the Assassination Attempt of Donald J. Trump
On Monday, I participated in a forum examining the assassination attempt of President Donald Trump in Butler, PA. Four of my colleagues—Congressmen Eli Crane (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Cory Mills (R-FL), and Chip Roy (R-TX)—and I had the opportunity to discuss the many security failures that occurred during and leading up to the event. We were joined by subject matter experts Dan Bongino, Erik Prince, and Ben Shaffer. A few of the failures we discussed at length:
- There was no counter surveillance team in Butler, PA
- The Secret Service did not attend the 9:00 am meeting the morning of the event or pick up the radios offered to coordinate with local law enforcement
- Security personnel vacated the rooftop (from where the would-be assassin fired his weapon) due to heat
We held this forum to ensure that Congress has not forgotten the tragedy that occurred on July 13. Congress has been provided with little meaningful insight into the Secret Service’s security failures, and we will continue working to provide transparency and accountability for Americans.
We look forward to working alongside Speaker Johnson’s task force and providing them with additional information. The American people have been without answers for over a month, and Congress must work to uncover the truth.

Tele-Town Hall Wrap Up
I hosted my virtual tele-town hall on Tuesday. Thousands of constituents joined the call to hear updates on what I’m doing in DC and Arizona’s Fifth District. We discussed election integrity, the 51 former intelligence officials who lied about the authenticity of Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the radical Democrats sending taxpayer dollars to the Taliban. Be sure to keep an eye out for updates on my next tele-town hall! If you weren’t able to join us this week, click the image below to watch a recap:
House Judiciary Committee to Hold Field Hearing in California
Next Friday, the House Judiciary Committee will hold a field hearing titled “The Biden-Harris Border Crisis: California Perspectives” in San Diego, CA. My colleagues and I will discuss the effects of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Border Crisis on California communities.
U.S. authorities have captured more than 55,000 Chinese migrants in the last 18 months—primarily in the San Diego Border Patrol Sector. The number of Chinese nationals entering the U.S. has surged by over 6,300% since Fiscal Year (FY) 2021.
We will speak with expert witnesses and those who have been directly impacted by the Left’s refusal to secure the border. You will be able to livestream the hearing at judiciary.house.gov.
Letters and Legislation
Letters Cosigned:
- Letter to CA Governor Newsom re Gasoline Withholding Proposal (Rep. Fong)
- Letter to President Biden in support of Chairman Terry Rambler’s request for a major disaster declaration for the San Carlos Apache Tribe, as a result of the Watch Fire (Sen. Sinema)
Alien Invasion Border Documentary
Check out my border documentary titled Alien Invasion. The 30-minute documentary features footage from private ranches along the border, the Darien Gap in Panama, and interviews with members of Congress, Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement, and much more. It addresses how President Biden’s border crisis began, its consequences, and solutions to address the crisis.
