On Saturday, September 7th, Congressman Dan Crenshaw will be hosting his Summit for Emerging American Leaders at the John Cooper School for all high school students. This is a non-political event put on by the Congressman’s Official Office.

We are thrilled to announce three new and exciting speakers for the upcoming Congressional Summit for Emerging American Leaders!

Tim Kopra is a former NASA Astronaut and retired Colonel from the United States Army. Kopra, a graduate of the United States Military Academy, is now the CEO of Starlab Space LLC, the commercial space station that will replace the International Space Station. Tim served in the military as an Army aviator in Operations Desert Shield and Storm, before joining NASA and flying missions on the Space Shuttle, as well as co-piloting the Soyuz Spacecraft.

Nancy Currie-Gregg is a former NASA Astronaut and retired Colonel from the United States Army. As an Astronaut, Nancy flew four missions, accruing over 1,000 hours in space, and was a part of the mission in 1998 that turned on the lights in the International Space Station. Prior to her assignment at NASA, Currie-Gregg served in the United States Army for over 23 years. Currently, she is the Professor of Practice, Industrial & Systems Engineering and Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University.

Matt Gray is the county commissioner for Montgomery County Precinct 4. Gray is an 8th generation Texan, and a proud native of East Montgomery County, having graduated from New Caney High School before attending Sam Houston State University. Matt has been serving his constituents since he was elected in 2022. In his rare off time, Commissioner Gray can be found continuing his graduate studies in Construction Science and coaching little league.

Hurricane Beryl Assistance and Response

The Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) is providing assistance to Texans affected by the severe storms, tornadoes, flooding and high winds that began April 26, 2024.

If you experienced storm related damage and seek assistance from FEMA, you may apply online or by phone at disasterassistance.gov/ or call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service, such as video relay (VRS), captioned telephone or other service, give FEMA your number for that service.

For the latest information about Texas’ recovery, visit fema.gov/disaster/4781. Follow the FEMA Region 6 Twitter account at twitter.com/FEMARegion6 or on Facebook at facebook.com/FEMARegion6/

Texans who sustained damage caused by tropical weather are encouraged to report damage through the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT).

For constituents who are on CenterPoint Energy, CenterPoint has relaunched its outage tracker. The online tool will provide constituents with information during storms and is designed to handle increased demand during such events.

Image

In this special cross-post episode of The Winston Marshall Show, the former Mumford & Sons musician engages Rep. Crenshaw in a wide-ranging discussion on U.S. foreign policy, including populist arguments for isolationism. The conversation covers America’s involvement in the Ukraine War, the Israel-Hamas conflict, and compares President Biden’s most significant foreign policy failures with President Trump’s record. They also delve into the realities of the ‘deep state’ and the internal divisions within the Republican Party driven by the populist movement.
