John,
Breonna Taylor should still be with us today. But in the past four years since her murder at the hands of police in Louisville, Kentucky, there has been nothing but a systemic pattern of anti-Black prejudice in this case.
This week, a federal judge not only threw out major charges against ex-officers involved in this case — he also placed the blame for Breonna Taylor’s on her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, who tried to protect her.
John, these officers lied to get a no-knock warrant to burst into a woman’s apartment, who was killed as a result. Now, they won’t face accountability for their actions that resulted in the death of a Black woman. It’s unacceptable.
There are a number of ways you can make your voice heard in the fight against police violence. You can learn more from this video.
Today and every day, we honor Breonna’s legacy and we commit to fight for Black liberation.
In love and solidarity,
Black Lives Matter
