Dear Illinois Republican Family,
With a heavy heart, we extend our deepest condolences to Pastor Corey Brooks, his family, and the many families affected by the rampant violence plaguing our cities. Tragically, Chicago's gun violence claimed the life of the godson of anti-violence activist Pastor Corey Brooks.
In his address at the Republican National Convention, Pastor Brooks called for unity, stating, "I’m praying with the hope of God, and the power of God, that somehow we can become the Americans that we’ve always been—resilient, steadfast, and unmovable—and somehow come back together as a nation."
Violent crime has reached epidemic proportions, devastating countless families, including 383 in Chicago alone this year. The time for change is now. We, as Illinois Republicans, must be the voice of reason, uniting all Illinois families to crack down on crime and support law enforcement.
Illinois families want the best opportunities for their children, and as the new school year begins, their safety and well-being are our utmost priorities. This is why we urgently need a Republican State’s Attorney who will enforce the law and prosecute criminals, rather than support misguided policies like the [un]Safe-T Act.
It is hypocritical for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx to prioritize prosecuting criminals only during DNC week. This behavior underscores the need to elect Bob Fioretti in Cook County and to replace Lake County’s version of Kim Foxx, Eric Rinehart, by supporting Mary Cole. These two incumbent State’s Attorneys were the only ones out of 102 counties to publicly back the [un]Safe-T Act. Enough is enough!
We have many outstanding Republican State’s Attorneys and candidates across Illinois who will enforce the law, prosecute criminals, and protect families. We've seen that George Soros-backed rogue prosecutors allow our cities to descend into chaos. In contrast, four years of President Donald Trump’s leadership brought public safety to our streets, enforced immigration laws, and supported our police officers.
The Illinois Republican Party stands united for public safety, and we will fight for our children and communities at the ballot box. Take the pledge to swamp the vote and sign up to protect the vote by serving as an election judge or poll watcher.
