Enjoy the Long Weekend
John,
Thank you to all of our volunteers who came out and helped us have the best
Super Saturday to date! Knocking over 7,000 doors on Saturday alone. We thank
all of our County Chairs that worked with our field team to help organize
amazing event locations across the State. A special shoutout to Johnson County
Chair Beth Boyce for hosting an amazing Super Saturday with over 70 volunteers.
I know we are really beginning to hit our stride making sure we get out the
vote this November. However, this weekend I encourage us all to get some rest
and relaxation with family before the last couple months of election season is
upon us. Together we will need our energy to finish out the campaign season
strong and make sure we get Republicans across the finish line this November.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend of fun with your family!
Thank you all for what you do!

✏️ 2024 IREAD Assessment Score Increases! 📈
Indiana's third grade literacy rates increased for the third consecutive year
according toresults released
<[link removed]>
from the 2023-2024 Indiana Reading Evaluation and Determination (IREAD)
assessment.
This is amazing news as Republican leaders have continued to make historic
literacy investments over the last several years.
Due to Republican leadership in the General Assembly and the leadership of
Indiana's Secretary of Education, Dr. Katie Jenner, Hoosier literacy is heading
back in the right direction.
Results Recap:
* Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Indiana’s literacy rates declined every
year, with the exception of 2014 to 2015.
* Literacy rates have now increased for three consecutive years.
* This year represents the largest-ever single-year increase since the start
of IREAD in 2013.
* Literacy rates for Black students, students in special education, and
students receiving free/reduced price meals have increased for three
consecutive years.
* The number of schools proactively testing IREAD in second grade has nearly
tripled - this allows teachers to have an indicator for student performance
before the third grade IREAD tests.
* Starting this year, all second graders will proactively take the IREAD test.
* With the help of this early indicator, educators were able to identify
students needing interventions to master foundational reading skills, allowing
56% of second graders who were identified as at-risk in 2023 to pass IREAD in
2024.
* Indiana partnered with Lilly Endowment, Inc. to invest up to $111 million
to support early literacy development. This investment was recently expanded by
the Indiana General Assembly during the 2023 legislative session, resulting in
a combined total investment of $170 million.
The COVID-19 pandemic interfered with learning for students across the
country, and Indiana was no exception. Thanks to the leadership of Secretary
Jenner and the General Assembly, we are witnessing a rebound in childhood
literacy.
Education remains a priority for Republicans. In order to continue to see this
level of improvement, it is important that we elect Republicans up and down the
ballot in November!
