I’m about to level with you on something that I hope you won’t share. We’ve had to make a really tough call in the last 48 hours, and I need you to hear about it.

Some dark money group — backing Trump and Kari Lake — just released a rush of attack ads aimed at tearing me down and propping Kari Lake up. They’ve put more than $8 million behind them. This is a serious buy. Looks like the biggest so far in Arizona this year, and it’s running across the state right now.

If we had more time we could wait a beat and regroup, but the election is less than 70 days away. At this stage in the race we can’t like things like this go unanswered — we have to fight back.

Truth be told, the money wasn't in the budget to do it yet. There’s risk either way here, but we put our heads together as a team… and we decided to give the green light.

This was a tough call. No doubt. We’re already a bit short of where we need to be before this end-of-month deadline tomorrow. But I’m betting on you.

I’m hoping that by being direct and honest here will convince you to chip in and help us close the gaps in our budget.

Arizona is the cornerstone of our Senate majority. We cannot falter here, not this late in the race. Too much is at stake, and I really need you.
