John,
Wow! Last night we had our largest virtual letter writing party of the election season.
Everyday people are fired up to help Get Out the Vote in key swing states. And the Coalition on Human Needs is here to help.
In addition to letter writing parties, we’re providing allies on the ground with the information they need to overcome voter suppression tactics, such as voter ID laws. Since 2020, 18 states have added or stiffened voter ID requirements with 38 states now requiring some form of voter ID in this year’s election.1
Voter ID laws are a modern day poll tax. In fact, according to the Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement, 47% of Black voters aged 18-29 lack a driver’s license with their current name or address while 30% lack a license at all.2 Compare this to just 5% of white voters in the same age range who lack a driver's license.
Power our Vote for Human Needs campaign today, which is empowering everyday people to Get Out the Vote while providing key allies on the ground with the resources they need to ensure all of our voices are heard.
To complement our voter outreach efforts and help ensure vulnerable communities know what’s at stake in this election, we’ve been asked to expand our Vote for Human Needs campaign by providing voter guides on the following issues:
Power our Vote for Human Needs campaign today to help ensure voters in critical states and in underserved communities have what they need to make their voices heard between now and Election Day.
