I was raised in a union household. As the son of a union power line worker and a mom who managed the books while raising eight kids, I learned early in life the value of a dollar and the importance of hard work — and how unions helped families like mine thrive.

I know firsthand that a good-paying, union job is the key to growing the middle class. So, ahead of the Labor Day weekend, I wanted to share what unions mean to me and our community.

We are facing a crisis across America, where some of our hardest workers struggle each day to feed their families and afford the basics.
