Hi John,
As the seasons change I always find myself putting on Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life. The album takes the listener on a journey of childhood recollections, first loves and lost loves, and fights for social justice — with an overarching theme of an infectious joy of life, no matter the circumstances.
Summer is drawing to a close, and Election season is ramping up — but amidst the chaos, my favorite song on the record (and of all time), “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” keeps me grounded in this fight.
In this era of divided government and extreme partisanship, it can sometimes feel like there’s only hate. I know I’m not the only one who gets frustrated in times of gridlock.
But when I take a step back and look at all the progress we have made, I am reminded why I’ll never quit this work. I am driven by my commitment to building a better future for our children and a better life for our communities. If you send me back to Congress, that’s what I’ll continue to do.
We set an ambitious $15,000 end-of-month fundraising goal to keep us on track for victory. Will you pitch in $5 before tomorrow’s midnight deadline?

As we head into the most critical phase of the cycle, remember this:

Music brings people together, John.
Thank you for dancing with me,
Valerie
