Foxx Report

You deserve to know where things stand in your country, and you deserve to know the truth about what’s being done to fix the catastrophes continually being brought upon us by the inept Biden-Harris administration over the last three years. We can certainly agree on this simple point. Every week, I break down the pressing issues that you care about, and I always work to peel back the layers and bring the facts directly into the spotlight so you can stay up to date on what is really going on. Being an informed citizen is one of the most important duties we have as Americans. While I have corrected the record on this particular issue many times, I feel the need to address it yet again: our southern border.

The Left has concocted the misleading narrative that if Republicans truly cared about addressing the catastrophe at the southern border – which, lest we forget, the Biden-Harris administration caused in the first place – then we would have voted to pass the Senate’s “border deal” earlier this year. This failed border deal was a nothingburger with a shiny bow on top – you know it and I know it. You might have even seen Vice President Harris’ recent comments on her support for this failed deal – that alone is rather telling, and certainly not surprising. Have you been told what was really squirreled away within the pages of this failed deal, though?

One provision would have allowed 1.8 million illegal aliens into the United States before parts of the southern border would have been closed temporarily. $1.4 billion would have been funneled to sanctuary cities and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to house illegal aliens. Not only did this legislation contain no provisions to deport illegal aliens, there was also no funding for the border wall. The list, as I am sure you can imagine, went on and on. To put it bluntly, it was a terrible bill.

The media, in its typical fashion, has failed to cover a simple fact that I’m going to share with you right now: a solution to the Biden-Harris catastrophe at the southern border has been sitting on Chuck Schumer’s desk collecting dust for well over a year. House Republicans passed H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, in May of 2023, but the bill has unfortunately been stuck in the Democrat-controlled Senate this entire time. Senate Democrats simply refuse to bring H.R. 2 up for a vote. The House has done its job by passing H.R. 2., and the Senate would do well to follow suit. Those are the facts, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Investigation Update

I’ve issued six new subpoenas as part of the Committee on Education and the Workforce’s ongoing investigation into antisemitism at Columbia University. The individuals I have subpoenaed include the interim president, Katrina Armstrong, and the Co-Chairs and Vice Chairs of the University’s Board of Trustees. Columbia should be a partner in our efforts to ensure Jewish students have a safe learning environment on its campus, but instead, university administrators have slow rolled the investigation, repeatedly failing to turn over necessary documents. The goal of this investigation has always been to protect all students but especially Jewish students and faculty, and if compulsory measures are necessary to obtain the documents the Committee requires, so be it.

Defending Seniors’ Savings

Recently, I penned a Letter to the Editor to the Washington Post after its one-sided reporting failed to lay out how a rule from the Biden-Harris administration will have devastating impacts on Americans’ retirement savings. Here’s a short excerpt:

“The new rule is like a bad rerun. The nonpartisan National Association of Insurance Commissioners has “significant concerns” that this latest regurgitated rule will once again limit Americans’ access to retirement products. The Hispanic Leadership Fund previously warned that reinstating the 2016 rule would greatly reduce the retirement savings of 2.7 million individuals with incomes below $100,000. The Biden administration is strangling the retirement products market, and the Education and Workforce Committee — charged with overseeing the 2024 rule — is working to stop it.”
