Thank you to everyone who attended our advisory
council meeting. I wanted to follow up on some of the
questions/issues that were brought up.
Questions/Issues:

Migrant Services and funds:
Grants have been handed out to municipalities since the
onset of the migrant crisis. The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus
administered another round of grant funds in partnership with the
Illinois Department of Human Services to support municipalities in
providing support services to individuals experiencing homelessness
and/or receiving asylum seekers/new arrivals. The grant program is
available statewide, however municipalities must go through the
application process online. SMASS FY25 will fund expenses associated
with the following five eligible services: Shelter and Transitional
Housing Support, Food, Wraparound Services, Legal Assistance, Health
& Wellness.

Our office hosts satellite office hours in Monee
twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at the Monee Village Hall.
Park Forest office hours are the last Thursday of each
month.

individuals you feel would be a good fit to join these advisory
councils.
