Whether your weekend plans include hiking, biking, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, wildlife watching, or sitting outside with a hot cup of coffee, we hope everyone has a chance to get outside this weekend! Spending time outside is good for your mental and physical health.

Before embarking on your next memorable adventure, remember to:


* Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to return. 
* Dress for your adventure. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing, and dress in or pack extra layers. 
* Research your destination and adventure within your own comfort zone. 
* Remember that roughly 94% of Maine's forest land is privately owned, and more than half of that land area is open to the public. You very well could be enjoying your adventure on privately owned land. Always pick up after yourself, park accordingly, and be a good land user. [ [link removed] ]
* Be prepared for no cell phone service, just in case! 
* Stick to established trails and roads. Always stay on the trail.
