Friend, I have a time-sensitive update to share on UNICEF’s campaign to vaccinate children in Gaza as polio re-emerges.
UNICEF and partners will have increased access to give polio vaccinations to children this weekend, following the announcement of preliminary commitment to a humanitarian pause across regions of Gaza.
This campaign aims to vaccinate 640,000 children under the age of 10 — and, without humanitarian pauses, the delivery of UNICEF’s vaccination campaign will not be possible.

give now to help UNICEF urgently respond to protect hundreds of thousands of children from
the threat of this deadly disease >>
Thank you in advance,

Just in: Children in the Gaza Strip face yet another devastating challenge as polio has reemerged for the first time in 25 years.
Earlier this month, a 10-month-old unvaccinated child in Gaza contracted the disease and became paralyzed in one leg. The spread of polio, a highly infectious disease, poses life-threatening risks for children — especially as the majority of Gaza’s hospitals and health clinics have been destroyed or are only partially functioning.
There is no cure for polio, but vaccines can protect a child for life. |
To protect children and prevent further spread of the virus, UNICEF is delivering more than 1.2 million doses of polio vaccines to Gaza, and thousands more are on the way, in an effort to protect over 640,000 children under the age of 10.
This vaccination campaign will be critical in preventing the spread of polio — and we must act quickly. Make an emergency gift today to ensure that UNICEF can do everything possible to deliver relief to children >> |
The reemergence of polio comes as health, water and sanitation systems in the Gaza Strip remain severely disrupted. With rates of malnutrition and the threat of famine rising, Gaza’s children are up against an unrelenting amount of risks to their lives.
Polio is a deadly disease — but it is preventable. UNICEF helps vaccinate over 400 million children globally against polio every year and teams are ready to respond. Your gift will enable UNICEF to position more supplies and advocate for a humanitarian pause in fighting to safely deliver vaccines to children.
Thank you for leaping into action,
