Dedicated Bus Lanes Improve Safety
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bus rapid transit (BRT) projects across the U.S. are delivering rail-like benefits at a lower cost. New research reveals that BRT infrastructure can reduce vehicle speeds even without active buses, enhancing safety and controlling excessive speeding. By dedicating lanes and providing train-like stations, these designs help create a culture of safety on urban arterials. Check out SSTI’s <[link removed]> latest blog to learn more about the surprising safety benefits and the importance of “self-explaining roads” in promoting safer urban streets.
