Something you might not remember about Governor Kathy Hochul is that she flipped a swing district in New York in a key special election for Congress just over a decade ago.

She won by just 5,526 votes — so when Gov. Hochul says she knows how to win tough races, she means it.

On the campaign trail, Kathy Hochul defended Social Security and Medicare, took on far-right Republicans, and fought for the people of her district — not for the mega-donors fueling attack ads against Democrats.

Many of these same fights continue to this day, and elections still come down to just a small handful of votes. Especially here in New York, where there are seven toss-up seats that we need to flip or hold this November.
