We have completed a successful ophthalmic training project dedicated to helping treat strabismus, a major cause of childhood blindness and vision loss in children, in Hawassa, Ethiopia — thanks to supporters like you.
Over the course of the week-long program, 16 training participants, including three ophthalmologists, three anesthesiology staff, five nurses, and five optometrists received hands-on training from expert Orbis Volunteer Faculty.
20 adults and two children received sight-correcting surgery after 35 patients were screened. Countless others will be able to receive improved care from the 16 trained eye health professionals in the years to come.
