Your support of Our Village is truly amazing and makes an incredible difference to your community. Sometimes it’s hard to see your generosity in action. The real, tangible impact that your donations make. So we thought we would share a couple of real-life examples of the difference you have made…

A young woman was a survivor of family violence and had to leave the family home with her two young children. The kids had to leave behind all their toys and clothes and were staying in crisis accommodation. The 10 year old boy was so excited when he saw the toys and said "are these all for me?" He was so excited to have toys again and his mum was moved to tears.

All because of your support ! Here’s another one…

One mum that received their Our Village items said "my family is very appreciative… it has supported our family so much." The father had sustained a workplace injury and was waiting for a WorkCover claim, meaning that the family's financial situation had dramatically changed. The items they received relieved some of the high levels of stress that their family was experiencing – and brought smiles to the kids faces.

That wouldn’t have been possible without supporters like you . How about one more example?

A new mum needed help, but she had no idea what items she would need. Both parents were asylum seekers and had little family support in Australia. Mum stopped working due to her pregnancy and so they were reliant on one income. Our Village provided a full order of all the essentials they needed. They were both overwhelmed by just how much a baby needed and so grateful for the items – which they wouldn't have been able to afford on their own.

We get so many stories like these and they all have the same theme – mums, dads, carers or foster parents facing the harsh and stressful realities of raising a child. Your help means they receive all the essential items their child needs to thrive.
