We did it! One month ago, we were excited to announce that we had been granted a generous $50,000 matching gift. Today, I am pleased to report that we have raised the funds to meet our goal! These resources will be critical in supporting our efforts to elect pro-RCV candidates in this year’s election and in ensuring a majority to pass this crucial reform in the coming session. Last year, we came two votes short of passing the RCV Local Options bill in the Minnesota House of Representatives. This year, we have the opportunity to pick up those votes and more, taking us one step closer to allowing all municipalities to choose RCV, and eventually implementing RCV for statewide elections.

When we announced the matching gift, we knew we were going to have our work cut out for us raising the funds in time. But we also knew our movement could pull it off. Now with only a little over two months until Election Day, it’s time again to buckle down and get it done. An RCV majority in the next legislative session is far from a certainty, and we need all hands on deck to make sure we talk to as many voters as possible by November 5th.
