Lawsuit Has No Legal Ground to Stop Parole-In-Place Program for Families - On Friday, several attorneys general, led by Texas’ Ken Paxton, filed a lawsuit to temporarily freeze the Biden administration’s “parole in place” program, which would have provided protection and relief for undocumented individuals who are married to U.S. citizens and have lived in the U.S. for at least a decade. That includes as many as 110,000 Texans. The lawsuit is a devastating setback for a program that would have a tremendously positive impact on Texas’ families, communities, economy and workforce. The estimated 500,000 undocumented people in the U.S. who meet the program’s basic eligibility requirements are married to U.S. citizens and have lived in the U.S. for more than 20 years, on average.

Arrington Honors 3-Year Anniversary of 13 U.S. Servicemembers Killed in Afghanistan - House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington issued a statement on the 3-year anniversary of the ISIS-K suicide attack at Kabul International Airport that killed 13 American servicemembers during the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan: “The entire chain of events - our reckless retreat, the shortsighted withdrawal from Bagram Air Base (which led to the ISIS-K suicide bomber at Kabul Airport being released from prison), the abandonment of American citizens and allies, and capitulation of the Taliban - is unforgivable. We must learn from this failure, but also, most importantly, never forget the valor of those 13 servicemembers killed in the line of duty and their Gold Star families. Remember them.”

McCaul Statement on Zuckerberg Admission of Biden-Harris Admin’s Censorship - U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) released a statement on the letter Mark Zuckerberg wrote to the House Judiciary Committee, admitting the Biden-Harris administration pressured Meta to censor free speech: “We expect this kind of brazen censorship from dictators around the world, who suppress the truth and deliberately keep their people in the dark — not from the leaders of the United States of America. I applaud Judiciary Committee Republicans for securing this letter and continuing to champion free speech. There must be accountability both for the administration’s egregious overreach and for Meta’s unquestioning compliance.”
