Ever feel like you're talking to yourself on the playground or in the classroom, John?

Managing large groups of kids, especially energetic and happy kids, is challenging—but it's also an opportunity to connect with
your students and have some fun.

The best attention getters tap into kids' silly sides. And using humor isn't just effective—it helps build trust and connection between students and their teachers.

Watch Coach Shawn demonstrate a few of his favorites (it's impossible not to smile while watching this!)—and then

Take a proactive approach to group management with get-to-know-you games and silly claps. Here are a few we like:

Move Your Booty
Circle up. One person begins in the middle and says a fun fact about themselves: "Move your booty if you love playing four square at recess" or "Move your booty if you have been to Michigan." If true for you, move from your spot in the circle. The person who doesn't make it to a spot leads the next fun fact.

Silly Claps
Need no explanation. :)
Get clapping and have fun this week, and as always, let us know how it's going!
