More Funding for Safer Synagogues:
We have good news to report! Thanks in part to the advocacy of ADL volunteers across the US who held over 300 meetings with Members of Congress and sent many, many emails, the Department of Homeland Security has allocated a historic $454.5M to the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (see DHS funding list
). These grants fund security enhancements to synagogues and other houses of worship, along with other at-risk nonprofits. This much-needed increase comes at a time of record levels of antisemitism and hate. ADL will continue working with Congress to ensure there is sufficient funding for this lifesaving program. (See below for how you can take action to encourage future funding of this priority.)
More Evidence of Antisemitism in CA School District: In a lawsuit filed to stop the teaching of antisemitic content in Santa Ana, CA public schools, ADL and our partners have uncovered more evidence. ADL’s James Pasch notes,
“As the evidence shows, the district intentionally hid information from the public, to try to get away with teaching antisemitic lies to the next generation in Santa Ana. The antisemitism that infected this process sent a clear message to Jewish students and families that their voices are not welcomed, and that they were intentionally excluded.”

Terrorism Targets Latin America’s Jews: ADL’s Marina Rosenberg, a former Israeli Ambassador in Latin America, writes in an op-ed about chilling Islamist terror plots that have been disrupted in both Argentina and Brazil in the last 12 months, and that
“While these plots were exposed in time to prevent mass murder, they sadly demonstrate that the Jewish communities in Latin America remain the target of both Sunni and Shiite Islamist terrorist networks that, until recently, appear to have operated with impunity.” Read Marina’s full op-ed about these threats and the need to work across national lines to prevent terrorism.
Fighting BDS at Minnesota: ADL thanks our many volunteers who emailed the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota last semester, calling on the Board to reject a BDS proposal by anti-Israel students. You made a difference.
The Regents have rejected this call to divest from or boycott Israel. You can take one more step in this win by clicking here to take an ADL action to thank the Regents for their decision.
