John,
AIPAC and its Republican-funded super PACs are trying to take over the Democratic Party. They’re forcing progressives to turn a blind eye to mass protests and calls to stop Israel’s bombs.
They’re taking out progressive incumbents like Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman by using $25 million dollars of right-wing money to influence Democratic Party primaries from the outside.
Intercept reporter Akela Lacy illustrated how AIPAC has been spending heavily against progressives. Lacy’s recent Intercept article details her interview with Cori Bush, Summer Lee, and Delia Ramirez.
Cori Bush said:
“Democrats should be concerned about AIPAC’s role in the party’s primaries. That was just my race, but what will they do next? Because what they’re ultimately trying to do is move Democrats further to the right.”
Delia Ramirez shared:
“Every single Democrat should be concerned that one or two super PACs were able to concentrate $18 million to take out a Democrat, and that so much of that money came from Republicans. You put $18 million against Leader Jeffries — he’s in trouble. Every one of us is in trouble. What AIPAC did should be criminal.”
Summer Lee pointed out:
“What AIPAC knows is that the Bronx or the Mon Valley where I’m from, or St. Louis and Ferguson, those communities don’t have $20 million sitting in them. They know that, and that’s the reason why they come into those districts.”
We can’t let AIPAC replace us with a clone of the Republican Party. We are in a fight for the soul of the Democratic Party. We need the resources to stand up to AIPAC and support our candidates who have been calling out for a ceasefire.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
