What I told Kaitlan Collins on CNN

Hey folks,

We don’t mince words here in New Jersey, so I’ll just say it: The attacks on Gov. Walz’s military service are a disgrace. Frankly, they’re bullsh*t.

That’s exactly what I told Kaitlan Collins on CNN earlier this month:

Mikie on CNN

They’re reminiscent of the attacks that Senator John Kerry faced when he was running for president, which I remember hearing about right after I returned to the United States from my final tour in the Navy. It was appalling to me then, and these attacks are appalling to me now.

The bottom line is that Governor Walz served our country in the Army National Guard for 24 years. He’s one of the highest-ranking enlisted people to ever serve in the House of Representatives. Even if Republicans disagree with his policies, his record of service to our country is undeniable.

But the attacks on Governor Walz aren’t just beyond the pale. They’re an intentional distraction from Donald Trump’s long history of disparaging veterans.

From calling them “suckers and losers,” to trashing Senator John McCain and insulting Gold Star families — the list goes on and on. And someone who has such an insulting view of our servicemembers has no business being our commander-in-chief.

That's why I'm asking for your help today, folks — will you pitch in $10 before Saturday’s end-of-month deadline to power my campaign over the final 68 days of this election? From mobilizing voters across New Jersey to hitting the road and campaigning in battleground states like Michigan, I’m going all-in in this critical stretch to elect Kamala Harris and Tim Walz and defeat MAGA extremism at the ballot box.
