I need to be honest with you and let you in on a problem we’re having.

After all the excitement and energy with Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket, I thought our fundraising would be up. But I just talked with my finance team and we’re actually raising less than we need. It’s very nerve-wracking.

Here’s the latest update my team showed me from ActBlue (as you can see, we’ve seen a sharp drop in donations this month):

This couldn’t come at a worse time because we have a major deadline to get our TV ads up and we’re falling behind. Can I count on you to please rush in a donation to help us bounce back and defend our vulnerable swing seat?

Look, I get it [first/friends]: Everyone is trying to enjoy the final weeks of summer and the election still feels like it’s in the distance.

But with only days left until ballots drop and our most important deadline yet on Saturday, this is a serious problem for our campaign. I’m scared that if we don’t reserve TV ads, GOP Super PACs will buy all the ad inventory.

Simply put, if we don’t turn this around now, we risk falling behind in the most critical weeks before the election. The GOP is ramping up their efforts to flip my seat red, and they’re not holding back. We can’t afford to be outspent or outmaneuvered at this stage.
