We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy in this new reality that we are all living. Amid the current health concerns regarding the COVID-19 global outbreak, we at Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC remain committed to protecting the civil and human rights of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community.
No amount of fear can excuse prejudice or bend our resolve to stop the hate
COVID-19 has challenged us as a nation and within the Asian American community. Advancing Justice | AAJC stepped forward to get the media to talk about the sharp spike in racism and harmful xenophobic attacks on our community during this ever-evolving COVID-19 global outbreak. We fight relentlessly against discrimination of Asian Americans by calling on the administration and other leaders to avoid terms that stigmatize communities and has led to verbal assaults, bullying, and physical violence.

Our Stand Against Hatred ([link removed]) initiative documents Asian American hate incidents. Through the media, webinars, and stakeholder calls, we have told the story of the real impact on victims. More recently, we have started bystander intervention training, ([link removed]) to give individuals – if they are in a physically safe position to do so – tools to intervene and de-escalate hate incidents. We trained more than 3,600 people in the first two sessions alone!
Join us to stand against hatred and give today. ([link removed])
We will continue to strengthen and rebuild
where they chip away at our democracy
Serving as the hub for Asian American resources related to Census 2020, we have educated our community on the importance of the census and how to participate. Our CountUsIn2020.org ([link removed]) site includes resources in 23 Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander languages. We also have a census hotline 1-844-2020-API where we can answer questions about the census. Even with COVID-19 disrupting the on-the-ground operations of many of our community partners, Advancing Justice | AAJC is pivoting with our partners to other methods of ensuring that our community will be counted.
Advancing Justice | AAJC will fight to keep Asian Americans visible
We must all adjust to the new normal of social distancing during these unprecedented times. But distance will not equal being invisible on Advancing Justice | AAJC’s watch. We will continue to bridge safely the harmful racial distancing across our nation. We are committed to making our community visible where it counts and for the right reasons. The injustices against us are real and harmful but our resolve and resilience are more powerful than what they throw at us.
Take your own step forward today by giving to Advancing Justice | AAJC. Today you will help our families and communities be seen, heard, and undeniable.
