I'm excited to announce that my second book, Transfarmation: The Movement to Free Us from Factory Farming, will be released on September 17, 2024!

Published by Beacon Press, the book explores how food and farming policies have failed over decades. It offers insights into the wave of change coming from a new crop of farmers and communities who are constructing a more compassionate and sustainable farming system.

It's no secret that factory farming causes an abundance of problems—everything from environmental destruction and animal cruelty to farmer exploitation and poor working conditions.

The need to move away from the antiquated and destructive factory-farming system is urgent.

That's why in 2019, Mercy For Animals launched The Transfarmation Project® as an alternative to this system, offering resources to farmers looking to switch from raising animals to growing plants.

Transfarmation is about solutions and the inspiring individuals paving the way for a more ethical, sustainable food system. Drawing on insights from interviews and fieldwork, the book presents the perspectives of farmers, animals, and affected farming communities.

Transfarmation will be sold at all major book retailers and is currently available for preorder.
