| Hi John, I'm Chris Clem, and as a retired Chief Patrol Agent, I have spent nearly three decades working to keep our nation safe. Throughout my career I have witnessed the heroics displayed by our agents saving lives, risking their own, and the tragedies brought by ruthless traffickers and smugglers exploiting people for profit. Every year, under four of the five Administrations I worked for, progress on border security was being made. Collectively, the US Border Patrol put forth and implemented a plan to give Americans the most secure border I had seen my career. Unfortunately, and sadly, the plan and its implementation were dismantled beginning on day one of the Biden Administration. This led to one of the most chaotic border environments I have ever seen. I have never seen a border crisis this bad: The numbers are staggering—nearly 9 million illegal crossings at the southern border since Biden took office, of which nearly 2 million are got-aways. This is more than just a crisis. It’s a full-blown catastrophe that puts national security and public safety at risk! That’s why I’ve partnered with AFP, to send a clear message to Washington: Secure the border, now. It’s not just President Biden who’s responsible for this chaos: Many in Congress have turned a blind eye to the situation, refusing to support common-sense policies like increasing border security, enhancing our infrastructure, and deploying the latest technology to manage and control the border effectively. But AFP and I are not standing idly by while Washington does nothing. Unlike many, we are taking action. We’re mobilizing the most powerful force in American politics—you, the American people—to advocate for real, tangible solutions that will finally secure our border. Here’s the bottom line: Fixing the border means: ✅ Investing in personnel-more border patrol agents, infrastructure-walls where they make sense and border access roads, and technology-lights, cameras and sensors.
✅ Enacting policies that quickly process and remove those who don’t qualify for relief.
✅ Complementing those efforts with accessible and highly vetted legal channels for people who come to contribute. All the above are proven requirements needed by border patrol agents to effectively secure our borders.
