JOHN,
Last week, children across Missouri returned to classes. And while education may be top of mind for so many right now, we need to make sure that voters keep in mind what is at stake for public education in our state ahead of the election this November.
Public education is critical to the future success of our state. Safeguarding public education and improving educational outcomes for all children is a top priority for me. As State Senator, I will work tirelessly to make quality education a reality for all of Missouri’s children.
Teachers, educators, librarians, everyone who works hard to teach, educate, and inspire our children every single day—they deserve much more than they get.
That’s why I wholeheartedly support better pay for our teachers and a return to a traditional 5-day school week for all public schools. We can also better support our teachers and students by reducing class sizes and fully funding K-12 education, every single year.
And at a time when educators have been caught in the crossfire of petty right wing culture wars and radical attempts to defund and undermine universal, quality public education, I am proud to stand with Missouri teachers and educators. |
