Dear John,
We want to bring to your attention a serious injustice unfolding right now in Logan County, West Virginia, that demands our immediate action and solidarity.
The Logan County Commissioners, who promised to be union-friendly to gain our support during their election, are now turning their backs on the very workers who put them in office. Despite their commitments, they are refusing to negotiate with the United Mine Workers of America (UMWA), wasting taxpayer dollars on anti-union efforts instead of honoring their word.
This betrayal is especially alarming considering the significant contributions UMWA retirees make to our community—bringing in $35 million each year through their healthcare and pensions. These workers are the backbone of Logan County, and they deserve respect, not dismissal.
We must stand together to demand that the Logan County Commissioners keep their promises and stop these union-busting tactics. It’s time for them to respect the hardworking people of Logan County and uphold the values they claim to support.
Please join us in calling for an end to this injustice! You can take action by:
Signing our petition here: Logan County UMWA Petition.
Writing a letter to the commissioners here: Logan County UMWA Letter Campaign.

Thank you for your commitment to justice and solidarity. Together, we can ensure that the voices of Logan County’s workers are heard and respected.
In Solidarity,
The UMWA Activist Team
