Friend,

Meet Rolando, an artist and also one of the young people we work with at the Young Center.

Originally from Guatemala and only 17 years old, Rolando traveled alone to the United States with the dream of helping his family and seeing the world.

The journey was hard and the process he had to go through to seek refuge in this country was long. But he made his way in pursuit of his dreams.

Now, at 18 years old and living in Chicago, Rolando is focused on building his future. He dreams of becoming an engineer, and while waiting for his work visa, he is working to obtain his GED.

These beautiful landscapes were drawn by him. Rolando's passion and talent for drawing cities reflects his love for urban landscapes and his vision for the future of someday being able to know them. We are very proud to be a part of his journey and to support him as Waymakers.

Would you take a minute to share Rolando’s story and his beautiful art on your social media platforms? You can share on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

"Compartir mi arte y un poco de mi historia es una manera de compartir mi experiencia, pero tambien de dar voz a la experiencia de cientos de jovenes que como yo, vienen a este pais a cumplir sus sueños. "

-

"Sharing my art and a part of my story is a way of sharing my experience, but also of uplifting the stories of hundreds of young people who, like me, come to this country to fulfill their dreams."
