Dear John,

Imagine contracting a dangerous, potentially deadly disease and having no place to rest, recover, to protect your family or to receive medical care. This is the harsh reality for thousands of displaced people living in the Democratic Republic of Congo and many other African countries that have been generously hosting millions of refugees for decades.

An outbreak of mpox is threatening the lives of people who are already living in desperate conditions, displaced by conflict, and lacking even basic necessities like safe shelter, clean water and medical care.

Donate now to help prevent the spread of mpox and protect forcibly displaced people.([link removed])

The majority of cases have been reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where 7.3 million people have been displaced by conflict and natural disasters. Our teams on the ground have heard heartbreaking stories from families who have been driven from their homes and are now living in overcrowded schools, churches, and tents in open fields. When symptoms of mpox develop, people try to isolate themselves to shield their loved ones and their neighbours. But, with no space available, many are left with no choice but to sleep outside, further endangering their health.

Please donate now to provide life-saving protection to people forced to flee.([link removed])

Your donation today can provide soap and clean water, and improve sanitation facilities in refugee camps and displacement settlements to help prevent the spread of disease. Your support will also ensure that refugees and displaced people can access national health services to ensure early diagnosis and care.

Thank you for your support. Your help is crucial in preventing the spread of mpox and protecting people forced to flee.

With best regards,
