John, you read that right. And that's why we're fighting back. We know that amazing school board candidates have what it takes to make a huge difference for our public school system.

That’s why we launched our 50 State School Board Strategy – a nationwide strategy to go head-to-head with Moms for Liberty and other far-right groups dead set on brainwashing kids and killing public education. And our strategy is working! Just look at Florida.

So far this year, we’ve endorsed 75 school board candidates – and that’s just a small fraction of the candidates we’re supporting as they go into their races.

But we can’t afford to slow down now. Our 50 State School Board Strategy may be going strong, but with more than 16,000 school board races happening each year, we have a lot of work to do to put more young progressive school board members on the ballot.

And with Project 2025 threatening everything from the right to read freely to our Department of Education, it’s more important than ever that we put progressive leadership on the ballot who’ll bolster support for the top of the ticket ahead of the presidential election.

Together, we can put committed folks on our school boards who will stand firmly against book bans, censorship and extremism in our schools AND motivate voters to show up at the polls and vote for progressives up and down the ballot this November. But without the necessary resources, we can’t continue to power our recruitment efforts.
